What You Want by My Bloody Valentine

My favourite Loveless song is always changing, I just can’t stay grounded to one song that I can claim as the one I like most. It’s like trying to pick your favourite child (sad simile, I know). I think, for now at least, it’s What You Want. It just mixes so much of what I love in the other ten songs; with how aggressive, but pretty it starts out, and the inaudible lyrics that are still somehow comforting.

But my second favourite would have to be Only Shallow.
-No, Sometimes
…Maybe When You Sleep. Come In Alone would be pretty high up there, too.

UGH OKAY THEY’RE ALL MY FAVOURITE.

Tugboat-Galaxie 500

On the Wall by The Jesus And Mary Chain from the album: Darklands

Darklands doesn’t get as much attention as it should.

Sidenote: VU’s Heroin?

Something's Wrong by The Jesus And Mary Chain from the album: Psychocandy

Waking up to The Jesus & Mary Chain is the best way to wake up.

Sometimes I think about what life would be like without this album. But then I snap back into reality (Y’know, after crawling out of the fetal position).

You Made Me Realise by My Bloody Valentine

I don’t know why it’s taken me so long, but I’ve finally started listening to early My Bloody Valentine.

Oh God, you guys, it’s so great. Listen to those ugly chords!

Alison by Slowdive

This song makes me want to rub up against pretty boys in the dark.

Fun Fact: This song holds the chord that inspired the name of this blog.

You Stopped Making Sense by The Radio Dept from the album: Clinging To A Scheme

Have I just been exceptionally bitter the past few months, or was this year kind of weak, music-wise? I mean sure, there are dozens of albums you could throw at me to make me rethink what I just wrote, but I guess I was expecting some new, groundbreaking album. Something like Kid A, only not so much like it. Anyways, even if this year has left me feeling a little short-changed, I keep going back to this song. It may not be the most innovative song of the year, but goddammit, I love it.

Only Shallow by My Bloody Valentine from the album: Loveless

What? I’m not going to not post a My Bloody Valentine song.

Walkin' with Jesus by Spacemen 3 from the album: The Perfect Prescription

“We take drugs to make music to take drugs to”

dreams burn down by Ride from the album: Nowhere

The drums! Listen to the fucking drums!

Ceremony by Galaxie 500 from the album: On Fire

It’s getting cold down here. Time to bust out the old Galaxie 500 albums.
