So what the hell happened to mine?”

Oh, sassy anon is sassy.
But joke’s on you, because one of my favourite films is M in Manchester.
I want to add Strange Powers, but I haven’t even seen that yet.
Divorce Song | Liz Phair
“And when I asked for a separate room
It was late at night
And we’d been driving since noon
But if I’d known
How that would sound to you
I would have stayed in your bed
For the rest of my life
Just to prove I was right
That it’s harder to be friends than lovers
And you shouldn’t try to mix the two
Cause if you do it and you’re still unhappy
Then you know that the problem is you
And it’s true that I stole your lighter
And it’s also true that I lost the map
But when you said that I wasn’t worth talking to
I had to take your word on that
But if you’d known
How that would sound to me
You would have taken it back
And boxed it up and buried it in the ground
Boxed it up and buried it in the ground
Boxed it up and buried it in the ground
Burned it up and thrown it away
You put in my hands a loaded gun
And then told me not to fire it
When you did the things you said were up to me
And then accused me of trying to fuck it up
But you’ve never been a waste of my time
It’s never been a drag
So take a deep breath and count back from ten
And maybe you’ll be alright
And the license said
You had to stick around until I was dead
But if you’re tired of looking at my face I guess I already am
But you’ve never been a waste of my time
It’s never been a drag
So take a deep breath and count back from ten
And maybe you’ll be alright”
Exile in Guyville is such a perfect album.
his indie world - mary lou lord
I don’t think I fit into his indie world
Guided By Voices and Velocity Girl
Eric’s Trip and Rocket Ship
Rancid and Rocket from The Crypt
Bikini Kill and Built to Spill
It’s plain to see that I don’t fit
He says my songs are too deep and gloomy
He wishes that I could be more like Jenny Toomey
Just give me my Joni, my Nick, Neil, and Bob
You can keep your Tsunami, your Slant 6, and Smog
What’s the story?
He says Butterglory
I say what’s the news?
He says the Silver Jews
His Heavenly hang-up is getting me down
And it’s making me wonder why he’s hanging around
‘Cause I don’t fit into his indie scene
Huggy Bear and Helium and Half-Japanese
Sebadoh and Sentridoh and Superchunk
And I don’t know
Doug and Lou and Calvin, too
And Kim and Kim and Kim and Kim
Yeah, I’m stuck in the past
And he’s stuck on his four-track
But I can’t get through to his one-track mind
I push play and record and a major chord
Maybe I’ll win his heart this time
Maybe I’ll win his heart this time
“I am sick and I am dull
and I am plain
how dearly I’d love to get carried away
oh but dreams have a knack of just not coming true
and time is against me now”

“a new career in a new town” is my favorite song off that record. it’s such a great intro to the ambient half of it!
Very true! I love that about Low, how it’s simultaneously cohesive and diverse.
Breaking Glass | David Bowie
That guitar line!
I really don’t blog about Loveless as much as I should. But I have a valid reason for that: Everything’s already been said. Every recording quirk has been commented on, every fact about the recording processed seems to have been released, every lyric has been (mis)interpreted, which is absolutely fine, since it’s obviously an amazing album.
I guess the only thing I feel I can say at this point is that I really, really like this album.
